UPDATE 5: Gavin Green – SportExcel Junior Amateur 2018: IMPORTANT NOTES

December 16, 2018

Tomorrow is the practice round day of the Gavin Green-SportExcel Junior Amateur and many of you are already practicing hard for the event.  There are some important notes which you will have to take note of as listed below:-

  1. Driving Range

TPCKL has informed us that the driving range will be undergoing scheduled maintenance on Monday – the day of the official practice round. Therefore, the driving range will not be available for use on Monday, our apologies for that. However, the ground floor bays at the driving range will be available for warm up, from Tuesday onwards till the end of tournament days from 6.30am to 2.00pm with 50 range balls free.

  1. Registration

Registration is at the Tournament Office which is located above the Halfway Hut next to tee box #10. Please register before you go out for your practice round. For Groups C, D & E, remember to register your caddies too!!!

You may also register for the clinics by Dr Micaiah and Gavin at registration. There will be an additional clinic by Gavin on Wednesday, at 2.30pm.

  1. Meal coupon

Each player will be entitled to one meal coupon a day, redeemable at the food trucks. Coupons will be issued daily at the tournament office.  Food is also available for sale to all spectators and the general public on a cash basis.

  1. Water stations

There will be water stations on the golf course on Holes 1, 5, 7, 10, 14 & 17 for the players.

  1. Pace of Play

Due to the number of players, pace of play is of utmost importance. Therefore, we will be introducing the green card/red card system for all players.

All players will be issued a green card by the starter. There are 4 checkpoints and anyone out of time will have to exchange their green cards with a red card. Referees will then monitor and push till the group catches up. Once the group catches up, they will exchange their red cards for green cards.

  1. Players’ Parking & Bag Drop

Players’ parking is at the multi-story car park. There will not be any bag drop facilities available. Please DO NOT drop your bag at the West Course.

 7. Categories BD/GD & BE/GE

BD & GD will play the second nine off the yellow/orange tees.

BE & GE will play the first nine off the yellow/orange tees.

There will also be a limit cap of 10 strokes for each hole in these categories

  1. Novelty Prizes

The first person to have a hole in one at Hole No. 5 or Hole No. 15 will win an i-pad.

Longest Drive

Longest drive will be at Hole No. 3 – only ball on fairway will be considered for measurement.

Thank you.

“See you tomorrow!!!”
