From winning a Malaysia Games silver to triumphing for the third time in US collegiate golf, it has been an eventful week for Zulaikah Nurziana Nasser. The 21-year-old did not let jet lag stop her from powering Sam Houston State University (SHSU) to a double title sweep at the Remax Prime Properties Invitational in Texas on Tuesday. Zulaikah sparkled with rounds of 67, 69 and 71 for a six-under 207 total to win by five shots from teammate Jenn David at Ravens Nest Golf Club. Zulaikah, who is a second-year student at SHSU, has now added a third individual title to her collection after winning the USA Intercollegiate and Palmetto Intercollegiate in the 2021-22 season. Just last Thursday, Zulaikah teamed up with Eliza Mae Kho to help Sarawak finish second to Federal Territories in the Malaysia Games women’s team event. “I couldn’t thank my team enough for having my back this week, (and) helping me stay active and positive while fighting through body aches from travelling and being jet lagged,” Zulaikah wrote on her Instagram account. “However, not only securing the individual win, but also our team pulling through with a 40 stroke win this week! “It’s absolutely insane what we’ve accomplished together girls!”
