SportExcel to Organise US Kids Golf Tour in Malaysia

SportExcel has signed an agreement with the US Kids Golf (India) Private Limited for the sole rights to organise the US Kids Golf Tour in Malaysia from this year until 2025. SportExcel will organise six US Kids Local Tour tournaments per season, including the season-ending one-day Local Tour Championship, with the participation of boys and girls aged five to 18. SportExcel executive director Sivanandan Chinnadurai said they are pleased to organise the Tour as it is a good platform for young golfers to hone their talent from the grassroots level. “We will have six legs of the tour per year, with this year’s tour to be held from September to December at golf courses around the Klang Valley. However, we will only finalise the exact dates and venues by the end of July,” he told reporters here Wednesday.   Meanwhile, SportExcel chairman Tunku Tan Sri Imran Tuanku Ja’afar said this is a great opportunity for young golfers to advance their skills in the game in age appropriate competition without having to spend the time and incur the costs of travelling long distances. “Our juniors can now have a great platform to compete against international players. With the US Kids Local Tour being held in Malaysia, our juniors are now in a better position to qualify for the international championship in Malaysia and other parts of the world. “Our agreement starts this year and the Local Tour tournaments will commence in September. Players can start gaining points to upgrade their Priority Status to qualify for the US Kids Golf World Championship 2024,” he said. SportExcel has contributed tremendously to junior golf in Malaysia, including producing young stars like 2023 SEA Games woman gold medallist Ng Jing Xuen and 2021 SEA Games men’s event gold medallist Ervin Chang.
