SportExcel will welcome a capacity field of 217 young golfers to A’Famosa Golf Resort, Melaka this weekend for the highly anticipated fourth leg of the SportExcel Malaysian Junior Golf Tour 2026.

Taking place from 29 to 31 August, the tournament will feature 14 boys’ and girls’ categories, ranging from golfers aged eight and below to the Premier Division for players aged 15 to 18.

The Premier Division will compete over 54 holes across three days on A’Famosa’s Rocky and Palm courses. The Junior Circuit will play 36 holes over Saturday and Sunday, with Groups A, B and C competing on the Rocky and Palm courses while the younger Groups D and E take on the Crocodile Course.

With registration fully subscribed, strong competition is expected across the field.

Among the players to watch is Wong Khaizen, who won the Premier Boys A category when the opening leg was held at A’Famosa in April. He returns to the same venue looking to produce another strong performance.

His challengers will include Muhammad Eiqbal Aisy bin Mohd Elauddin, runner-up in the opening leg and joint runner-up in the third leg, as well as Danish Irfan bin Mohd Shaaban, who also shared second place at Tasik Puteri.

In the Premier Girls A category, Chloe Lee Xian Ying and Khu Yuan Puah will arrive in good form after finishing second and third respectively in the third leg.

For more than three decades, SportExcel has provided young Malaysian golfers with regular, structured and competitive playing opportunities. The Tour’s age-group pathway allows players to progress through the different levels while developing their skills, confidence and experience under tournament conditions.

The programme also creates opportunities for promising players to gain international exposure through overseas tournaments and reciprocal partnerships. Among the Malaysian golfers who progressed through the wider SportExcel system are leading professionals Ben Leong and Gavin Green.

This weekend’s tournament continues that development mission, giving young golfers another valuable opportunity to test themselves against their peers and compete on a demanding championship stage.

With a capacity field, returning contenders and season-long rivalries set to resume, an exciting weekend of junior golf lies ahead. The Premier Division will conclude on 31 August, adding the significance and celebratory spirit of Merdeka Day to the final round.
